Light . Joy . Playground Sparkling rain is falling. Starry and emotionally warm lights burst out and reach to your heart. Light, the first thing of the beginning interacts to your motions. The light will call you and it will follow you in a positive way. You may live a dream beyond the physical world. Light actively responds to you, busting with energy like the big bang. Falling drops of light. Physical light bulbs with digital light waves make a mixed reality and unique environment. LamX is an interactive artwork that simulates the light talking to you. The light bulbs are notes on the music staff and it plays with you as soon as you dive into the LamX world. With LamX, any places become a playground and a shelter. It is always beyond your imagination. When he was redefining light in his artistic language, he was interested in how light spreads out, and filled the air, and paints the space with its warm color. He was familiar with how heat travels from a heat source and was able to imagine the invisible world visually. That gave him an idea of how the light will travel when it slows down. He was also interested in a way to communicate with light as a living creature. He questioned himself, “How does light respond to me? Maybe in a magical way? Will the light will follow me or will I follow the light?” Giving a personality to the light was one of the most important processes. Light leads you and also follows you wherever you go. It is positive and waiting for you to play with it. It calls and invites you to the playground. There is another important ingredient he loves to use throughout his artworks. It’s rain. He often brings rain into his artwork as a great sample of immersive sound and dynamic reactions. Rain to him symbolizes the power of life that comes alive by its movement. Rain makes you take a break and helps you to look around. It also brings back the nostalgia of happy moments. He brought the rain into LamX. Rain fills the air emotionally like a light, but rain is audible and visible. He imagined that the invisible world of light may look like rain. He borrowed it and it made the analog emotions visible. In a view of design, LamX has two graphic elements, round(O) and line(I) which are 0 and 1. He aligned the binary code with wires, light bulbs, and ripples. Many elements start to run together and are precisely calculated. They are synchronizing perfectly as one body. It is a delightful dialogue, an aesthetic scene, and the beautiful moment the artist designed. His artwork is like a surprise gift to visitors. LamX also has two hidden light shows full of emotional scenes and story-telling. It is a 7min-length unique light show, so-called “LamXhow” performs by itself at a certain time with motion graphics, animated sparkling lightings, and motivative emotional music that has been composed and performed by Han Lee.
